Birthday Parties

Parties can be one of the biggest challenges parents face when trying to keep kids diets healthy.   There seems to be a party almost every weekend and when it comes to party foods most of them are packed with colours, flavours, preservatives and flavour enhancers. Kids can take all week to recover and get the additives out of their system, just in time for the next party binge.

A quote from a Happy Hopper Customer

"I am so grateful that you are producing these wonderful products. It is great to see a business making a difference and producing what I believe all companies should be striving for, a product which is safe and natural for our children.  Thank you again, we are looking forward to many delicious treats and I hope I can share these products with all the families I know." Nadine

No one wants a boring party and there are plenty of ways to have fun with foods that don’t include additives. Here are a few ideas that are guaranteed to please both kids and parents.

Lollies

Natural confectionary company lollies

Drinks

Unfortunately the Natural Confectionary Company’s soft drink range has been discontinued, look for Schweppes Lemonade without preservatives or for a healthier alternative try all natural fruit juices or organic cordial mixed with water or soda water. Mix with Hopper Natural Colours for an extra fun treat.

Chips

Plain not flavoured, check for antioxidants in the oils, Lays and Arnotts, Kettle, Smiths and Red Rock Deli are ok as are Ajitas Vege Chips.

Popcorn

Pop your own and add a little melted butter and sea salt.

Fairy Bread

Yes it is possible!!! Hopper Natural Colours and Spinkles have a great range of colours and sizes and they don’t contain artificial colours or flavours.

Jelly

Coles Brand naturally coloured & flavoured.

Sausage Rolls

Make your own using fresh mince or organic sausages and puffed pastry, Pampas Butter Puff Pasty is free from additives.

Other ideas

Most hot chips contain preservatives; look for Logans Farm Guilt Free Fries.

Ice Blocks - Nestle Peters Icy Pole and Frosty Fruits, Streets Paddle Pop Moo and Mini Milks and Fruits.

The Cake - Use cooking chocolate and cocoa for flavour and colour as well as fruit purees blended with icing for decoration. Natural liquorice, white marshmallows and lollies (as mentioned above) can bring your creation to life.

Party Food Disclaimer - Please note these foods are suggestions to substitute party foods that would normally contain additives. Some of them are ‘empty snacks’ and not recommended for regular healthy snacking.
